The world is chaotic and messy, but God always remains faithful and holy. I’m overwhelmed with gratefulness that the Lord has blessed Curtis and I with this really strange and awesome life. I would have never dreamt of this life, but God truly knows the desires of our hearts… even when we don’t. I never want to leave the Lord’s will no matter where that takes us. Hopefully He keeps us in Cambodia for a long time :)
Children of Hope has kept me extremely busy in the best way possible. I mean with 24 kids how can life ever be dull? One day we are in the hospital for stitches from running into a door to the next day when Baby J said “Momma” and “Hi”!
This last month was a little stressful however, due to a 3-day government inspection. We love that the government is checking up on the kids and making sure they are being treated well, it’s just a lot of work! Interviews with every child individually and a 20 page check off list for the home itself. The government is very strict with NGOs and rightfully so, so there’s a bit of rumbling nerves, but the Lord provided so much peace!
Katherine started implementing morning devotions with all the staff at 6 A.M. every morning before the kids wake up. We spend time reading the Word (it’s 6am though… honestly I don’t start seeing in color until at least 7am) and in prayer. Seriously, guys, the power of prayer!! We went through some pretty gnarly spiritual warfare for a few weeks because Satan really hates when we are bonded with God, but we’ve seen a huge difference in the kids and the atmosphere in the home. It has been amazing to see these kids blossom to live normal lives.
We’ve been incredibly blessed this month. The Lord has shown us fruit in unexpected areas of ministry. Thank you for continually praying for us. We covet your prayers.
God Bless,
Bre and Curtis
