Hey Guys!!! I just wanted to give a quick update on all that has been happening with us and the ministry.
The Pastors Conferences have been quite fruitful. In Svey Reang we just completed a study through the book of Acts and of 1 Timothy which upon completion the pastors received certificates for those courses. This is a major accomplishment and they were beyond ecstatic to have successfully completed a Biblical course. For those who don’t know, the pastors conferences are purposed to teach pastors and Christian workers how to study the Bible (Inductive Bible Study) and motivate them to teach in a systematic way in order to better feed their congregations. To date we have taught through the Gospel of Mark, Acts, and 1 Timothy. I have been going out to Svey Reang for more than 3 years now and it is so refreshing and inspirational to see their continual hunger for the Word. Time after time they all gather together from 10 different churches to meet and study God’s Word. It is truly an amazing thing and I’m humbled and honored to be a part of it.
In Kampong Channang, we have been studying through Matthew and are nearing the end of the course. I have been going to this village for a little over a year now and it is awesome to witness the pastors Bible study skills improve over that time. There are a larger amount of non-educated people here than in Svay Reang, but that has not slowed down their eagerness to learn. It’s very encouraging when they are calling me the weeks before our conference to talk about the teaching. Not only have we been utilizing this time for studying together but it’s a time where we are able to fellowship and pray with and for one another.
Also, I have been invited to a Christmas outreach in Svey Reang. We have loved and supported this church’s Christmas outreach ever since we have been out in Cambodia. The church invites everyone in the village to the outreach where we share the gospel message, fellowship, give some small gifts, and watch the Jesus film. It is a great opportunity for the Christian church to be a witness and help win people to Christ. This year they have asked me to share! An amazing opportunity so I urge all of you to pray for this time that many will hear and become followers of the Lord.
C O H is a major part of Bre’s and my own life. Katherine (The home’s mother) was able for the first time in 7 years to visit her family in the States for Thanksgiving!!! PTL!!! As she is away Bre has taken over the responsibility of running the home of 26 kids. Bre will give a more in depth update on everything going on over there shortly. But please keep her and the home in your prayers.
Lastly, I have began teaching an English class for WOL. I have taught English classes here before but this time is more fun and challenging as I’m teaching the lowest level of English where we only speak English about 20% of the class. This has been stretching my language skills and is so fun to be a part of. These English classes are offered for free to all who want to learn and is used as a way to educate the people and also show and share the love of Christ. Truly an amazing ministry to participate in.
Ps. With the help of all of you we were able to purchase 90 Bibles and 50 hymnals to distribute to Christians who have never owned one for themselves. PTL!!!
God bless,
Curtis
