We are happy to say we have officially moved locations in Cambodia….. Well more like moved a few streets down but the benefits of this move are ten-fold. First and foremost is the sound reduction! We have been living next door to two construction sites and 2 metal shops for the past year and I’m pretty sure Homeland security has looked into us for all of our plans of destruction we have created for those places. Also for the same price of our apartment we now have a house full of many rooms and lots of space. Bre is going to be teaching English classes for about 15 local girls a few times a week at our house. Another plus side is we are living in a community of Christians! Two of our neighbors also are missionaries from WOL and our Khmer neighbors seem very nice and welcoming. We have definitely been enjoying community again. The atmosphere brings me back to childhood days. At dusk everyone is in front of their house playing soccer, and socializing with neighbors. The Lord knew just what we needed during this transition period.
The trip to Svay Rieng (Pastor's Training) was very fruitful. We rode motos 4 hours each way to reach the church, which was a long drive on motos but at the same time fun and adventurous. We were received with open arms and had a great time going through the book of Acts. We were able to cover chapters 10 and 11 which are the cornerstone chapters for any Christian who is not a Jew. It was a great time studying together and while we were studying Ti Khon and some fellow missionaries held a kids program in which they told the story of Jonah and then played with balloons and scis (little feather hacky-sack toys) and they had a blast. The kids program was a huge blessing because kids out number the adults by a long shot so before the kids program all the kids were just running around crazy.
A ministry that I have gotten involved with lately is worship and sound for the WOL church. Please pray for us as it is difficult to deal with the sound in a small concrete room with tiles going up half the walls!!! Holly and Rin have trained up some amazing musicians, so the mission is now to get them to use their talents as a team. Worship is a very important ministry so please pray for these boys and girls that the Lord will equip them and prepare their hearts. Working with this crew has been a big blessing.
Bre has been over at C O H quite a bit lately because Katherine was able to bring home little baby Jonathan from the hospital! Please continue to pray for him as he is healing and for Katherine taking care of him. Its a lot of work having 24 children and a 9 month old baby. Bre has been having a great time over there. Playing with kids and holding a baby, it’s like she is a different person!
We are pumped about the new developments in our life and for the ministry opportunities that are ahead of us. Thank you for your prayers. We are very blessed to be on this adventure with you. Don't forget to sign up to get email updates.
God Bless!
